Proposal
My proposal based on research and study of industrial landscape photography
when is becomes more emotional by a personal reason. Comparing contrasts between landscape and object photographs in same series of photographs. It is a very personal as the subject is my father works and his art work pieces and handicrafts in his life.

About: Industrial photography, two aspects of a man’s life, childhood, link between a man’s crafts and his job, construct silos in Africa and Asia
Aim: Make the viewer think about the possible connections between silo (uncanny ‘Steel Monster’) and a few well-designed handicrafts made by hands
Hows: Setting up series of his handicrafts images and another series of silo
Why: being engaged with the topic, remembrance of my father ,dedicated to him, make the public think about the contrast between silos and his handicrafts.
This project is taken about an ‘uncanny’ ‘Steel Monster’ silo complex, which is a unique one as it is the biggest one Europe and it was opened recently. It is placed in Martfu, Hungary. This shinny ‘Steel Monster’ with its 200,000 tonnes total capacity, gives 1 year continuous productivity. Its 14 cells are part of the new exceeding of the old complex which made it be the biggest Silo in Europe. They opened it last March 2007.It is being tested still to ensure that there are no malfunctions, ensuring continuously productivity. Research started with the famous industrial photographers couple from Germany( the Beckers).Then moved onto Bahget Iskander ,the Syrian born 60 years old Hungarian photographer artist and asking for an appointment to get his piece of advice about Silo Project. Iskander took his silo pictures in Algeria in 1980 for the Hungarian Silo Builder Company, Agrikon (Mezogep).I was 5 when I saw his images first time. Iskander worked with my father and others who helped me about this project. I needed to get access to the complex to make a research at the scene, speak with former colleagues who worked with my father in Algeria, Turkey and Egypt. Gathering technical data catalogues, figures about the complex. Then plan the positions for taking images to get the best result of it. Make selection, first choices, organize them, get some feedback or ideas about it.
Private life aspect of the project
He had a car crash and he wounded heavily, but in the other participated car they were not that lucky as he was. There was dead of 4 Arabs in the other car. That time was dangerous risk being involved in an accident for a foreigner. The practice was if there was a fatal accident and the survivor was a foreigner that the police itself made a quick judgement at the scene as eye for eye so the police shot into dead immediately before anybody would have arrived to the scene to help. But for him something was ordered he got help from the second car which was following his car. The second vehicle took him to the hospital. At the hospital the doctor did not allow the police to get a statement, for further investigation, from him because of his state of mind and injuries. The company contacted the Hungarian Embassy to get him out of the country to get a fair trial, but it was not that easy those times.
Finally, they managed to smuggle him on board of an egg delivery plane to take him home.
What is next?
Taking pictures about his handicrafts ‘cultural heritage’ back in Hungary.
